I guess - the "little falls" for which Little Falls is named.
Click on this photo to enlarge and you may be able to see the details of the original barge canal which passed over the top of the Mohawk River. It now runs parallel to the river.
We caught a sailboat just finishing up going through the lock. The water is being let out of the lock and the boat operator's head is just disappearing below the side wall of the lock.

The sailboat has now reached the lower level and is about ready to leave the lock. The lock lowered the boat about 40 feet.

Hi, many,many thanks for all of your reports, I have found them to be both interesting and informative of the last few weeks, I shall miss your daily updates. Congratulations on a spectacular ride and we do so wish that we could shake you all by the hand, good luck for the future and enjoy the remainder of this epic ride.
