One week from tomorrow I will leave for L.A. Yesterday, I received tracking notice that my bike had arrived at the hotel in L.A. - so that concern is now off my mind. I'm hoping that it arrived in undamaged condition. I shipped a box of stuff on Tuesday so that I will only have one carry-on bag to fly with. I didn't want to take a chance on losing checked baggage - especially since I'll be changing planes during my flight to L.A.
We had a couple of freezing nights a couple of days ago, but it has warmed up again. My wife, Kim, and I went for a 25 mi tandem ride on Sunday. Yesterday I did 50 mi on my single-speed mt. bike in strong head winds. It was a very hilly route so I was beat. It felt more like 100 mi. This morning I did 25 mi over the same route. It is supposed to start raining today and last through the next two days. I need to get the lawn mowed before the rain starts. Lots of odds and ends to get done in the next week before being gone for almost seven weeks.
