Day 36 - Sat, June 14 - Indianapolis, IN to Richmond, IN - 83 miles - 3000 climbing feet

Today was a beautiful day with sunshine and a light tailwind - a nice reward for riding in the rain all of yesterday. Most roads were decent and most traffic was light. We sort of cruised along at a relaxing pace - saving energy for a century ride tomorrow.

Today was Amy's (Kalamazoo, MI) 50th birthday so she received much fanfare about turning 50. The CrossRoads staff gave her a surprise greeting along today's route. The riders also gave Amy a baseball cap embellished with a "XC08" insignia and all of the rider's autographs. A group of her cycling friends (on bikes) from Kalamazoo surprised her along the route and rode with her for the rest of the day. They will drive back to Kalamazoo in the morning.

Yard art along today's route.

Tomorrow we will ride 103 miles to Marysville, OH, our last 100 or over mile day. Two weeks from today the tour will be over and I will fly home. It's hard to believe that five weeks have passed - and hard to believe all that we have endured during those five weeks.

Bye for now,

Bob
